ABOUT THERAPY

“Between the stimulus and the response is a space, and in that space is your power and freedom”

- Viktor Frankl

Choosing the right therapist is an important decision and I provide a free consultation call to help you get a feel for my style and energy. If you have questions that are not answered below, please jot those down and I’d be happy to chat. Feel free to contact us with a question or consultation request.

  • Do you provide in person sessions?

Various evidenced based modalities are used: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Mindfulness-based and Somatic approaches Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is evidenced based trauma processing that uses eye movements, similar to EMDR but offers a faster, more modern approach compared to EMDR, often resolving problems in just one session. • Do you accept insurance?
We are in network with Aetna, Cigna/Evernorth, Carelon Behavioral Health, and Optum/Oscar/UHC. We use a platform called Alma to manage our billing and admin. Alma manages everything related to payments and insurance to make things as easy as possible for you.
  • What are your rates?
If you decide to not use insurance or are not in network, our Out of Pocket rate is $150 a session.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
Clients must cancel their appointment at least 24 hours in advance, or they will be responsible for the missed visit fee of $80.
  • Are there risks to therapy?
Psychotherapy offers numerous benefits, including improved mental health, enhanced coping skills, and better interpersonal relationships. However potential risks could be symptom exacerbation or development of an awareness of new issues. Sometimes after a session you may feel lighter and relieved. Sometimes after a session you may feel tired and pensive from discussing difficult topics. Both are normal and to be expected.
  • Are results guaranteed?
Everyone’s journey is different and results are not guaranteed. Results in psychotherapy are not guaranteed because therapy is a complex, individualized process. While many people experience significant benefits, there is no certainty in how quickly or to what extent change will occur.
